Despite Hollywood’s strike, Hollywood has decided to make a new formula 1 movie, the main characters are being played by Brad Pitt and Damson Idris at the Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix. There is no release date for the movie yet, but it will probably be released soon, maybe in September.
Hollywood can continue making movies during the strike because independent companies can make movies. Over the past years, Hollywood has created many car-racing movies. One of them is “Grand Prix.” This movie is about a team APXGP, and the two drivers, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) and Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).
In the article, Brad Pitt described his part as “a guy who raced in the ’90s, has a horrible crash, kind of craps out, disappears and then races in other disciplines”. “His friend, played by Javier Bardem, is a team owner. They’re the last-place team — 21, 22 on the grid — they’ve never scored a point, have a young phenom played by Damson, and he brings me in as a kind of a Hail Mary, and high jinks ensue.”
The movie director is Joseph Kosinski, who was also the movie director for “Top Gun Maverick,” “Tron: Legacy,” and “Oblivion.” His goal is to make this movie the “most authentic racing movie ever.” Kosinski is using techniques used in top gun maverick to make the cars look like they are in a race. They make it look authentic by using clips from a real race. This is different than other movies because in other movies they don’t try this hard to make it look real, and they are even filming on a real Grand Prix track.
Lewis Hamilton is working with Joseph Kosinski to help him with authenticity. He is a seven-time formula 1 champion, so he should be able to make it authentic. He says, “I’ve spent time with Joe, trying to make sure we’ve got the best camera positions. The frame rate is different, so it’s going to look fast, faster than it does on TV. It’s going to be amazing.” He believes in Joseph Kosinski, and he thinks the movie will turn out great.
In conclusion, Hollywood is creating a new movie despite the Hollywood strike, and the producers are trying hard to make it look authentic. They think that it will be astounding.
