Home Alone

By: Maggie Z

Home Alone is a 1990 PG Comedy about an eight-year-old boy named Kevin McCallister. When Kevin literally topples over his family’s Christmas dinner, his mother sends him to sleep in the attic, where he furiously wishes that he never had to see his family again. The next day, the McCallisters leave for their Christmas vacay in Paris, only to find that they accidentally brought along the neighbor’s son instead of Kevin, who was still asleep in the attic when they left the house that morning.

Kevin then wakes up, finds the house empty, and assumes that his wish to have no family came true. However, he soon discovers two people, Marv and Harry (the Wet Bandits), plan on robbing the excessively huge mansion the McCallisters have for a house. Kevin, who uncovered the plot on a grocery run, decides it is up to him to keep the house safe. Then, Kevin makes and initiates his surprisingly effective battle plan. It works out hilariously in ways Kevin (nor anyone else) could have never imagined and will leave you rolling on the floor laughing your head off.

You say, “Well, it can’t be that funny. Nothing can be that funny.” To which I’d reply, “Watch it and see for yourself! There’s a first for everything.”
