How Steph Curry Changed the Game of Basketball

By: Braydon Chen

Over the past 8 years, Stephen Curry went from a promising player with tender ankles to an important superstar of the Golden State Warriors. He not only changed the game with his unmatched shooting, but his level of skill altered the talk of stardom in the National Basketball League. This year, Curry led his team to be champions in the 2022 NBA Finals with an amazing performance in all his games.

Stephen Curry didn’t just become great by winning trophies, his success has resulted from distinct perseverance and dominance in the NBA. People already knew he was a very elite player, but because he showed that time after time, he was deemed an NBA immortal. At 34 years old, Curry is not done yet. But, we can now fully appreciate his skill after his signature performance in the NBA Finals.

What makes Steph Curry so amazing and special is that he’s only 6 foot 2! Compared to other NBA stars like LeBron James, who’s 6 foot 9, or Kobe Bryant, who’s 6 foot 6, Curry is considered short. It is shocking how a person so ordinary in size can be so dominant in the NBA, which is what makes Curry so unique.

Curry likes to be creative and try new things on the court. He is a must-see entertainer with his joy, showmanship, and 30-foot shots. He is very selfless on the court, and knows how to move without the ball to help his teammates get open. But apparently, Curry doesn’t get enough credit for all the great things he does.

Before Curry burned through a skilled Boston Celtics defense, many people used his lack of MVP awards to minimize him. But, after the Golden State Warriors won the 2022 NBA Finals, Curry finally won the MVP award. In a post game interview, Curry said to the interviewer playfully, “We’ve got four championships.” Everyone knows he’s determined to win a fifth one.
