Do you ever get carsick? Or do you ever wish you could skip the dusty roads and hold out hope that the “floo network” from the famous Harry Potter books might be real? Well, you’re not alone. In Dover, people have been stuck in traffic for hours and hours and some of them are still waiting in a huge “parking lot” full of cars with their engines running. The question is, though, why is traffic so tight in Dover? Like, families are wasting gas and even sleeping in their cars! You also may ask, “Why France?” I mean, can’t the Brits go somewhere else for the summer holidays?
What?
“Some people have spoken of queuing for hours whilst waiting to get through passport control, before waiting to be allowed to go on a ferry,” the BBC News says. It all started on Friday, when families and friends were just casually making their way down a busy road when suddenly, everything stops. The cars are probably moving a few inches every hour.
How Did They Escape?
How did the drivers, passengers, and cars escape? You may well ask. It definitely wasn’t easy. Like, there were more than 100 cars trying to escape the jam, and trying not to be sandwiched in. “However, Dover port authorities say they have worked ‘around the clock’ to help both holidaymakers and Lorries get across the Channel—around 72,000 passengers had been processed by Sunday morning.” Tourists, holidaymakers, Lorries, and families have made their way safely and smoothly out of the traffic and into the English Channel.
Well, now do you wish that floo powder was real?
