In the world of geometry you’re sure to find –
The Pythagorean theorem! – it’s one of a kind
Applies only to right triangles
With C the Hypotenuse
If the legs were A and B in disguise
A squared plus B squared equals C squared – Surprise!
As for number theory,
Fermat had a dream
No sum of cubes makes a triplet team
Euclid – the man
Thought it had to be for sure
There had to be some infinite primes
For numbers so pure!
As we venture through the world of trigonometry
The Law of Cosines appears just so vividly
For A and B and C in a triangle
C squared is A squared Plus B squared
Taking away two-a-b-Cos-C!
Then there’s the elementary –
The Quadratic Formula
For ax^2 Plus Bx Plus C to zero
Negative-bee-plus-or-minus-the-square-root-of-b-squared-minus-four-a-c-all-over-two-a’s the hero!
