As the world’s population hits eight billion people, the US forecasts that India will overtake China as the worlds most populated country in 2023.
As India hits a stunning population of 1.38 billion people, they are expected to overtake China as the world most populated country in 2023. The global population is growing at an all-time low since 1950. This is because as time goes on people are getting a better education, and as a result, women have more choice on what to do with their lives. Due to this they are having babies at an older age and are also having fewer of them. Currently the average fertility rate of a woman is 2.3, but it is expected to fall to 2.1 by 2050, if not earlier. The UN predicts that the world’s population will hit 8.5 billion by 2030 and 9.7 billion by 2050. Australia’s population is also expected to continue growing, as is the US, New Zealand, and Canada.
