It was quiet in the hallways of Elm Elementary School. Too quiet. Jake stared at Corridors of Emptiness. Nothing ever happened when it was his turn to be a Hall Monitor. To keep himself entertained, Jake always would walk back and forth across the hallways praying that something would happen.

His wish came true. A boy with curly brown hair looked confused as he walked up the hallway.

“Do you need help?” Jake asked.

“Can you help me find where 223 is?” the boy asked.

“Go up that hallway and take a left, then you will find it. I’m in your class. Oh, and what’s your name?”

“My name is …uh… my name is Azulon. I’m new to the school.” Azulon said.

“Cool, see you at class. “ Jake said.

Azulon waved as he walked up the hallway and turned left. Azulon, thought Jake, Where have I heard that name before? Jake didn’t have much time to think because three minutes later, the bell rang. Soon the hallways filled with kids from all grades came rushing out of their classrooms.

It’s time for recess – maybe I’ll see Azulon again. Jake thought. He searched the entire playground, and it was easy to spot Azulon because Jake went to the highest point of the jungle gym.

Jake climbed down and ran towards Azulon.

“I think I’ve heard your name somewhere before. I think it was the movie when an alien from Mars came down to Earth and took over the world.” Jake said.

“I think you…uh …um confused with another name.” Azulon stammered and then he ran away.

Jake shrugged and went to play four-square with his friends, Madox and Asa. When they teamed up, they were unstoppable. He played four-square until it was time to go back into the classroom.

Back in the classroom, Mrs, Gatsy, the teacher, called on Azulon.

“What’s 10×8 Azulon?” she said.

“こんにちは,” Azulon replied.

Everybody looked confused.

Then Mrs Gatsy called on someone else. This happened throughout lunch and until the end of the day. Jake was shocked when he realized the fact that Azulon was an Alien. He knew because Azulon was speaking another language and was acting strange for the entire day.

At the end of the day, Jake rushed to see Azulon.

“I know you’re an alien,” Jake said.

Azulon gasped and then ran to an alley and climbed into a spaceship. As he blasted off, he shouted, “Curse you, Jake, I will get my revenge on you!”
