Should Aaron James Judge, the Yankees outfielder in MLB, get paid 360 million dollars?
The Yankees drafted Judge in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft with the 32nd overall selection, a pick the team received as compensation after losing Nick Swisher in free agency.
I personally think that Aaron should get paid 100 million in 10 years. I think this because he is not extremely good. I don’t think anyone should get $300+ million in Major League Baseball. Instead, firefighters, soldiers and nurses should get paid more because they save lives. Saving lives is far more meaningful than entertaining baseball fans.
I also think he shouldn’t get paid $300+ million because of his stats. In his four full seasons, he missed a combined 131 games. He also missed 32 of the Yankees’ 60 games in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
According to an article in Sports Illustrated Kids, “Judge’s camp has been asking for a 10-year, $360 million contract.” Players receiving over $300 million in their contracts include Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, and Fernando Tatis Jr.
