Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet are two popular singers and their friendship started in 2014.
Once they started to sing together, you could tell something magical was going to happen.
“When the music comes on, something happens to him,” said Lady Gaga. “He knows exactly what he’s doing.”
When Lady Gaga first partnered with Bennett for “Cheek to Cheek,” some questioners saw it as a distraction, a way for a wild pop instigator to “change” her typical genre to jazz.
But the musical art piece she brought to her life with Bennett won over her fans and gained the respect of an older generation of listeners.
After a concert, some people commented that, “[they] had no idea that Lady Gaga could actually sing!”
Before Lady Gaga collaborated with Bennet, she was battling depression. “I was so sad. I couldn’t sleep. I felt dead,” she said. But after Gaga met Bennet, things began to look up. She said that Bennet had somehow “saved her life.”
“And then I spent a lot of time with Tony. He wanted nothing but my friendship and my voice.”
Sadly on August 2021, Tony Bennet died.
The two singer’s friendship will live on forever.
