BET’s voting academy has 500 pop stars in it. They said that people love Lil Nas X. He won the two best hip-hop awards! He also made this admired song in 2019, “Old Town Road.” Lil Nas X experienced comments from many online trolls and homophobic people. Sometimes even celebrities too! One of them, Boozie Badazz, likes to bully Lil Nas X. But many people have hated him for being “in your face” about Lil Nas X’s sexuality.

Lil Nas X has been treated badly by BET because BET lacks inclusivity (doesn’t exclude people mostly because of gender, race, class, sexuality, or disability). The same thing happened with Drake. ‘Hotline

Bling’ wasn’t a rap song, yet it was listed as a rap song. Drake thought it was probably because he was Black. Not only did they get rejected for being Black, but also for Lil Nas X’s sexuality. That means BET is racist and homophobic. And because of this, this is upsetting for him.

BET lacking inclusivity is the reason why Lil Nas X isn’t in the BET Awards nominations this year.
