Qatar—–2 weeks ago, Lionel Messi single-handedly saved the Argentina team, continuing his brilliant period in the World. As one of the best soccer players in the world, it was just a little moment in Messi’s career. Today, I would like to introduce the life and history of this great football star, Lionel Messi.
10 years ago, A 13-year-old boy, who wanted to find his dream, flew across the Atlantic from Argentina to Spain. Why did he leave his hometown? It had to do with the early life of this little kid. Lionel Messi was born in a middle-class. His grandma and father tried their best to support his growing passion for soccer. However, at a very early age, Messi was diagnosed with a unique illness. He had a variant of polio which prevented Messi’s from growing taller than 125cm. He needed a growth hormone that his family could not afford. Finally, they found that the football club Barcelona in Spain would pay the $10000 fee per month. This club also gave his father a job to make a living. After getting into this club, his soccer skills improved more and more. He spent most of his youth to lead this team to win.
Lionel’s professional career is legendary. From 2004 to 2021, he scored more than 600 goals in Barcelona. He has won numerous honors, awards and cups through his efforts and talents. Though Messi has received Spanish nationality, he remains loyal to his birth country, Argentina. He has said: “Argentina is my country, my family, my way of expressing myself. I would change all my records to make the people in my country happy.”
But things changed after 2021. Messi, who had stayed in Barcelona for 17 years, chose to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain for a very large salary increase due to the problem of salary.
Although he didn’t perform as well as usual during the first year in Paris, Lionel has gradually adapted in this team and gave a satisfactory answer in the coming year (2022). Let’s see how this magical man can bring the champion of the World Cup to his family and new home.
