Mark Budzinski, Blue Jays’ Coach, Takes A Break From His Job

By: Derek Chang

The Blue Jays announced on Sunday the team’s coach, Mark Budzinski, would be taking a break from his job because his eldest daughter died.

The daughter was called Julia Budzinski and is 17 years old.Mark has a wife named Monica, and has two other children, Josh and Lily. Mark will be taking the break to spend more time with his family.

Ross Atkins, the Blue Jays executive vice president, said, “The Budzinskis have been part of our Blue Jays family over the last four seasons. This devastating loss is felt by our entire organization and we grieve alongside Bud and his family. I have known Bud for more than 25 years and have always admired his commitment as a dad and husband first. He is loved and well-respected by our entire clubhouse and holds a special place in all our hearts.”

After their next game, the Blue Jays closed their clubhouse. This was because all of the team’s coaches had started going with Budzinski to “deal with a personal matter”.
