Mei Xiang is a giant panda.
Giant panda Mei Xiang, who lives at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, turned 22 on July 22nd.
Mei Xiang had a golden birthday this year. She turned 22 on July 22nd. This can happen to everyone.
The “golden birthday” is the year you turn the same age as your birthday–for example, turning 25 on the 25th.
Mei Xiang won’t have another golden birthday anymore, but her kid and her grandkids for generations to come, will all have a “golden birthday.”
