Most Capped Men’s Football (Soccer) Player: Ronaldo!

Cristiano Ronaldo, a superstar soccer player, has set yet another record. On the week of June 18th, Ronaldo played his 200th game for Portugal.

Before the game began, Ronaldo received a Guinness World Records certificate for his 200 game record.

During the game, Ronaldo scored the only point against Iceland.

After the game, Ronaldo reported to UEFA.tv that, “It’s the kind of moment you never expect, to reach 200 games. For me it’s an unbelievable achievement.”

Ronaldo started playing for Portugal in 2003 and scored his first goal for his country in his second year, in the Euro 2004 competitions.

Since then, Ronaldo has been earning points and breaking records all over the world.

According to twinkl Newsroom, “Ronaldo has played for some of Europe’s best football clubs, such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus. He won the League five times – the first player to do so. He’s the only player to score more than ten goals in the competition with three different teams.”

When playing for Mancheseter United, Ronaldo set a record for the most goals in a single season: 31.

He also scored 450 goals for Real Madrid, making him the all-time top scorer!

He’s also the highest-scoring player of all time with a tally of over 840 goals!

Ronaldo started small and became famous. He achieved many records for football.
