Musk and Zuckerberg May Fight Soon

By: Ray Zhao

No, it’s not a political stunt. It’s not fake news and its not gossip. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Dana White, have all confirmed that a Musk-Zuckerberg cage fight may happen soon.

As with many things that involve Musk, it started with a joke. But this time, he turned out to be more serious than before. Musk, the world’s richest person, challenged Mark Zuckerberg, the world’s second richest person, to a cage fight. After Zuckerberg confirmed that Musk was actually willing to fight, he jumped into the ring by posting “Send Me Location” in reference to the catchphrase of one of UFC’s most decorated fighters, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

White has also confirmed both sides’ eagerness to fight, citing frequent, long talks about locations and rules. “They both want to do it,” he said.

There is a lot of speculation about the match, which could be held in Las Vegas if it is approved by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Both participants have begun training in an attempt to win a fight that White says will “include some type of charity [mission].”

It is unclear who would win a Musk-Zuckerberg match. Musk, who is 52 and almost 60 pounds heavier than Zuckerberg, has the advantage of weight but does not have experience or discipline. Recently, Musk stated that he “rarely” works out. Some around him have suggested that he does not have the discipline to work out consistently.

On the other hand, Zuckerberg seems fit and up to the challenge. Zuckerberg, per his social media, is very fit and has worked out consistently for the past several months. He has even won several Brazilian jujitsu tournaments.

No matter how this fight turns out, millions will be watching and excited to learn the results. Musk’s mother, however, recently tweeted her opposition to the match, stating, “Don’t encourage this fight!”
