The story all started when a rover named Curiosity was exploring Mars. He had been on Mars since 2012.
The rover was just climbing over Mount Sharp, a 3-mile long, mountain located on Mars, which the rover has been climbing since 2014. When Curiosity was climbing the mountain located on Mars it accidentally rolled over a rock and the rock cracked open. Inside this rock was yellow-green colored Sulphur. Since October of 2023 Curiosity has been exploring parts of Mars, which is known for being rich with sulfates, a type of salt that forms when Sulphur mixes with water. scientist’s reported to the BBC that “they have never found pure Sulphur on Mars before.” According to NASA each layer of the mountain represents a different time period. Curiosities mission on Mars is to study when and where the red ancient terrain could provide what us humans need if we are toever live on Mars.
