Did you know that new AI chatbots, created by small groups of people, or even just one person with little to no money at all, have been spreading misinformation? For example, bots like – WizardLM Uncensored, GPT4LIFE, and FreedomGPT.
According to The New York Times, “A.I. chatbots have lied about notable figures, pushed partisan messages, spewed misinformation or even advised users on how to commit suicide.” Just by looking at this evidence, you can see how hideous these AI chatbots are. Messing up notable figures’ profiles and telling you how to commit suicide, as well as spreading spewed misinformation, that’s way past the line.
Think of the AI companies you know, I always think of Google, ChatGPT, and OpenAI. All of them have added filters. According to the New York Times, “Companies like Google and OpenAI have carefully added controls that limit what the tools can say.” Big and major companies filter their bots of speech while small and minor companies/groups don’t limit what their bot can say at all. Additionally, there is a new “free-speech debate over whether chatbots should be moderated, and who should decide.” So far, this conflict is being debated by experts.
Whether or not they should be banned, it could be considered.
