Atlanta, Georgia- Prior to the 2024 United States Presidential Elections, three debates are held between the presidential candidates. Presidents Biden and Trump are set to meet this Thursday, June 24th at 9 pm ET, for a rematch from four years ago.
Presidential candidate debates are a great opportunity for the candidates of both parties to appeal their ideas and opinions to the nation. Mr. Biden, who is credited with lowering the costs of everyday expenses, more working jobs, and rallying the world to support Ukraine, is expected to defend his administration’s impact on the economy, healthcare, and foreign policy, while Mr. Trump will likely attack how Mr. Biden handles these records.
Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, was the 45th President of the United States. During his presidency, he was most known for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was the largest tax reform package in history. After leaving office, he has been affiliated with all sorts of events, such as the January 6th attacks on the Capitol, and several criminal and civil cases.
Looking back to the last debates from 2020, Biden won the debate at around 60%. Some key topics from the last debate were the COVID-19 pandemic, race and violence in cities, the economy, as well as the Supreme Court.
Mr. Biden, now 81, and Mr. Trump, 78, are the oldest presidential candidates to ever run against each other. CNN will be covering the debate.
