Objective: Students will learn how to use literary terms and identify rhetorical devices to improve their understanding of a text and enrich their own writing.
Essential Questions:
- What are some key literary terms?
- What are rhetorical devices and why are they important?
Enduring Understandings:
- Some key literary terms are: setting, theme, characterization, climax, allusion, dialogue, exposition, fable, parable, allegory, and more!
- A rhetorical device is a use of language that is intended to have an effect on its audience.
Standards
