Objective: Students will learn how to use literary terms and identify rhetorical devices to improve their understanding of a text and enrich their own writing.

- What are rhetorical devices and why are they important?
- What are the four main forms of irony?
Enduring Understandings:
- A rhetorical device is a use of language that is intended to have an effect on its audience.
- The four main forms of irony are: dramatic, situational, verbal, cosmic.
