Darkness sets underneath a cloud.
Moon watches, Moon listens
As the color fades from the sky, she watches.
Drifting far, far away.
As the color fades from her face, Moon closes her eyes.
As the craters in her face fade, she sheds a tear.
She thinks back,
Every promise
Every empty word.
They all mean nothing
If she is gone.
Moon opens her eyes; she cries into the abyss,
She is alone.
Nothing can hurt her here.
Her life is ending.
She is dying, fading into the unknown.
She is gone,
But she is still alive in our hearts.
