Many people in the Hall H of the San Diego Comic-Con were surprised when they announced their newest actor. Their newest actor was actually not so new as he was in many movies beforehand playing Iron Man. Their “newest” actor is none other than Robert Downey Jr. Robert Downey Jr will be playing Doctor Doom, a well known supervillain from the Fantastic Four series.

When they revealed this, the man himself stepped from the crowd and revealed himself; this was absolutely shocking to the people attending because he is known for playing Iron Man in many movies.
Robert Downey Jr started his journey with Marvel back in 2008. This was when the Iron Man movie came out. He continued to play Iron Man/Tony Stark until the character died in the 2019’s movie Avengers: Endgame.

He said that he would enjoy playing Doctor Doom because he likes complicated characters. Doctor Doom is the main villain of the Fantastic four series. The series was started way back in November of 1961. The movie that Robert Downey Jr will be playing in is set to be released in July 2025. It’s called The Fantastic 4: First Steps.

He will also be playing Doctor Doom in the movie Avengers: Doomsday. This movie is set to be released in May of 2026.
