In the famous Hall H of San Diego Comic-Con, a returning actor was announced to play an iconic comic book character.
Marvel fans were packed into crowds waiting to hear the new details of the upcoming films of MCU, or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On the stage, they were greeted by a hooded figure dressed as Doctor Doom, a villain from the Fantastic Four comics.
Then one of them stepped forward and revealed himself as Robert Downey Junior, aka the actor that also played Iron Man. Fans were shocked to see him return with a new role.
Robert Downey Junior began his acting career at Marvel in 2008’s Iron Man and went on to play Iron Man until the character’s death in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Speaking to the Comic-Con crowd, Downey Jr said: “New mask. Same task. What’d I tell you? I like playing complicated characters.”
Scheduled for July 2025 is the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie. In May 2025, the Thunderbolts movie will be a big hit for superhero fans.
