Have you ever heard of Cristiano Ronaldo? If you haven’t, then you might just never have been into Ronaldo, the star footballer, who played his 200th game for Portugal this week. No other male footballer has played in 200 internationals, and no other male player has played more games for their country. Ronaldo scored the one and only goal for his team to beat Iceland. After the game, Ronaldo told UEFA.tv: “It’s the kind of moment you never expect, to reach 200 caps. For me it’s an unbelievable achievement. To be in the Guinness World Records is amazing and to score the winning goal is even more special.” Ronaldo explained this to the news reporter.
When Ronaldo first started playing for Portugal, it was 2003. He scored his first goal for Portugal, the following year, during the Euro 2004 competition. “He currently plays for Al-Nassr, a team in Saudi Arabia, and his £177 million-a-year contract is thought to make him the best-paid player in the world.”
