Russia’s War Is Responsible for One Problem: Global Food Shortages!

By: Ray Wu

As you know, gas prices have risen. Russia’s war is responsible for that. Forget about the gas prices. Food is now becoming more unaffordable. Ukraine blames the invasion for high resource demands.

“They say everybody must support a rules-based world order, and the rules are written depending on what specific situation the west wants to resolve in its own favor,” said Sergei Lavrov, a foreign minister.

Lavrov spoke with Sameh Shoukry. After the conference, Lavrov claimed that the west was trying to prolong the conflict.. This shocked many people, but when you think about it, it makes sense. No wonder the war was still going on.

There is a critical grain shortage. Many families are starting to run out of food. People say that the Russian blockade is halting the exportation of millions of tons of grain to Africa and Asia.

Ukraine and Russia export nearly half of Africa’s wheat, making the war devastating. Egypt is usually one of the largest consumers of Ukraine’s wheat. Lavrov strongly disagreed that Russia was the main cause of this famine.

Lavrov is persuading African countries that it is better to be on Russia’s side than the west. He used phrases like “we’ll help you complete the process of decolonization.”

Many countries cannot afford to lose all these resources. Fuel is commonly used and is required to power up machines and cars. Food is needed more than fuel. Three meals a day is recommended by most doctors. It is pitiful that Africa is going through a food shortage.

Now we know that fuel isn’t the only thing we now lack. Food is needed more urgently than fuel. Is Lavrov telling the truth to Africa? Should African countries accept or reject the offer? We’ll see in the coming months!
