On June 29, the shortest day ever was recorded because the Earth’s full rotation is taking 1.59 milliseconds less every 24 hours. If this keeps happening every day then this could mean that our clocks would have to tick down by one second.

This could cause a huge problem for technology companies. Computer programs that rely on timers would have a hard time changing to the new clock.
