Have you ever been to the World’s Ugliest Dog contest? The World’s Ugliest Dog contest is a fun event where people get to see different dogs and get to know them better. Even though it’s called the World’s Ugliest Dog contest, it’s not about that. The World’s Ugliest Dog contest tells people about the dog’s story and what it went through. It shows people that they should adopt them more because unusual dogs are the same as any other dogs. Even though they might have some different abilities from other dogs, they should still be shown lots of love.

Recently, the World’s Ugliest Dog contest has been held in California. There was a dog named Scooter who was there and won the contest. Scooter is really unusual from other dogs, but is really special to the world. According to NewsForKids.net, “Scooter is a seven-year-old Chinese Crested dog. His body is hairless, but he has a thin mane of spiky white hair on his head. His rear legs face backward, and his tongue hangs out of his mouth constantly. Scooter’s special looks won him the 2023 World’s Ugliest Dog contest.” This is important because Scooter had a tough life as a child, but he was able to adapt to his differences. He might not be an ordinary dog, but he should still be treated like one.

Scooter is a special dog because of his story and how he looks, but how did he end up like this? According to NewForKids.net, “He was born with his rear legs facing backward, making them useless for walking. But a volunteer from a group that works to protect animals thought Scooter might just make it in spite of his back legs.” This is important because when Scooter was born, he probably wouldn’t have survived because he needed a lot of help. Even so, a volunteer thought he would be able to walk in a special way, so Scooter was able to balance on his front legs and use them to walk.

Scooter may have won the Ugliest Dog Contest, but what does this mean to the world? According to Reporter Samatha Kubota, Liz Calvario, and Sumiko Moots, “Many of the contestant dogs have been rescued from shelters and puppy mills, to find loving homes in the hands of those willing to adopt,” the contest’s website reads. “Please join us in raising awareness and support for the pets yet to be placed in a loving home.” This is important because imagine someone is different from other people and they are being judged a lot. They have no friends and feel invisible. Then, you become friends with them and they feel really happy. It’s the same for dogs because the world is different, but we are all the same. We should always be kind to people whenever and wherever we are.

In conclusion, the World’s Ugliest Dog contest shows people that not everyone has to be the same. There are many people in the world with different abilities, but we shouldn’t judge them. If everyone was the same, it would be really boring because people would have to do the same activities and routines. We are really lucky to be different in this world because it shows who we are. The next time you see someone who is different, try to become friends with them because it will make you feel a whole lot better.
