My summer camp school, Himalaya, took us on a trip to Golfland. It was shorter than I thought— I thought it was going to be 2 or 3 hours like the other trips I have been on. On the way, I was sitting next to William, my teacher. I was asking him questions for the entire bus ride. We got there in less than half an hour.
“Are you sleepy?” I queried.
“Yea. I am.” responded William.
“Want a bedtime story?” I questioned back.
“No, I am good.” William said sleepily.
“I will tell you a very short one. So once upon a time there was a boy called William. He went to bed and slept for a year. After he woke up, he ate a burger and went to sleep again. To this day, he is still sleeping.” I talked. “By the way, what is your birthday?” I demanded.
“I am not telling you.” William stated.
“I will tell you mine. Mine is December 21st, 2013.” I chatted.
“No.” William stated again.
“Fine.” I uttered. “We are here!” I exclaimed in my mind, excitedly. At the park we got our clubs and balls inside an arcade! Golfland had an arcade place inside, and outside was mini golf courses! First, we picked a cool spot to sit on—the benches were extremely cool under the hot sun. We put our water bottles on the tables and chose partners. I chose my best friend, Jacey, who is always making things more interesting than usual.
“Let’s go play golf, Jacey! Don’t worry, I will teach you how to play golf.” I whispered to her.
“What if you can’t?” Jacey asks.
“The teacher can teach you.” I replied.
“I would rather have you teach me than the teacher teach me.” Jacey answered.
“Let’s go.” William shouted. After some time, we finished hitting all the holes. There were ones where if you hit the ball into the obstacle or obstacles you might get a hole in one. There are ones that have a door or bridge that lifts and goes down, hit it in there at the correct time and you will get a hole in one.
Normally, I don’t drink much water, but in Golfland it was super-hot so, I drank 3 half liters! Later, on the way back, I asked William more questions. On the way home, I also sat with Jacey and both of us told William bedtime stories that did not make sense and that were funny.
“So, William, I will tell you a bedtime story. Once upon a time there was a boy called Tom and a friend called William. Tom was 3 feet and 1 inch tall, and William, however, was twice as tall as Tom. Tom tried to shrink William, so he poured water on him and made him stand there for an entire night. Tom thought that if water could shrink clothes, it could shrink people. The next day, William was still twice as tall. So, Tom squished William into a mold and left him out there for a night. When the sun poked out from the sky, he checked William, and he was the same height as him. The End.” Jacey said while laughing.
William was also laughing too, and before I knew it, we were already back at my after school building. What a great day at Golfland and on the bus.
