One second grade teacher down the hall,

Was afraid to play with a bat and a ball.

Once a ball hit her in the knee,

And now she hides quietly behind a tree.

One of her students came up to her,

And asked where the bat and the ball were.

The second grade teacher pointed at the ball and the bat,

And swore to never play at that.

The student asked why she wouldn’t play.

The teacher said that would turn her gray.

So, the student pleaded for the teacher to join,

And the teacher ended up earning a coin.

The second teacher overcame her fear,

And didn’t have to let out tears.

The bat and ball used to be crappy,

But now they are all happy.
