Skiing

By Andrew Tan

More people are going to the slopes on skis and snowboards because of Covid-19. The prices are now 20% off, so the resorts can still make money during Covid. The General Manager of Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire, John DeVivo, says that they have probably sold a thousand more season passes this year than any other.

DeVivo adds that he’d love to sell more, but to keep people safe from Covid, there is a limited number of people allowed. Instead of changing in the lodge, your car is now your lodge instead. “Ski areas want people to follow the rules, in part, because they want to be able to stay open. Many employ a lot of people in rural areas.” Not only do they benefit from having a job, but the skiers and snowboarders also have fun. Alyssa Sherburn, one ski resort guest, is just happy to have a lift ticket. So, she can escape her house for fresh air. She says that the weather is great.

Skiing is a fantastic place to go out and have some fresh air.
