Spain defeated England 2-1 on Sunday in Berlin to Win the European Championship.
This victory is Spain’s fourth time winning the European Championship, breaking the tie with Germany for the most wins in history. Captain Harry Kane of the England team told BBC Radio 5 Live that England’s defeat by Spain in the final of Euro 2024 will “hurt for a long time.”
The score remained 0-0 at halftime. But, in the second half, Nico Williams scored for Spain in the 47th minute. Cole Palmer, a substitute player, reignited England’s hopes of winning by netting a goal that went into the bottom right corner of the goal. Spain dashed England’s hopes of ending its 58-year trophy drought after Mikel Oyarzabal scored a goal in the 86th minute, ensuring Spain’s victory.
