Stephen Curry – Basketball legend

By: Jiahao (Alex) Chen

I think we should appreciate Stephen Curry more, because he has changed basketball history by making incredible and unforgettable plays. He is a role model for the youth who want to become a star just like him, and a humble and a selfless leader, although some dislike Curry’s attitude.

Stephen Curry is a famous basketball player known world-wide because of his talent. He has been playing since his childhood days, learning the intricacies of the game from his father. He plays in all sorts of tournaments, gaining fame the more he plays.

Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988, Akron, Ohio, U.S. He grew up playing basketball with his dad, Dell Curry, who was a 16-year NBA veteran. Curry went to Davidson (North Carolina) College because college coaches from major college basketball programs wouldn’t accept him. Curry made himself known quickly, scoring 21.5 points per game on average, while most He played throughout college and in his junior year, his average was even higher at 28.6 points per game. He soon entered the 2009 NBA draft and was selected by the Golden State Warriors He led his team to the championships in 2014–15, 2016–17, 2017–18, and 2021–22.

Over the past eight years, Stephen Curry has gone from nothing to a basketball sensation. He didn’t just make history because of his unparalleled shooting, but rather the way he played that earned him fame. Curry’s domination on the court has given a new meaning to the phrase, “the man.”

Stephen Curry is skillful, without being tall or physically gifted. Since his height is ordinary, being good at a game where height plays an important role makes him especially talented. He might not have the height, but he has the skill to compete with taller players. “You’ve never seen a guy his size dominate the league like this and just to put the weight of everything on his shoulders throughout a Finals series,” Golden State forward Andre Iguodala told reporters Thursday night.

Stephen Curry’s thirty foot shots are a joy for the audience to watch and make him a must-see entertainer. He doesn’t get enough credit for his situational awareness, his domination on the court or how much he tries to get his teammates open when he doesn’t have the ball.

Stephen Curry doesn’t need to worry about his fame, he doesn’t need to do anything to prove he is a man, he doesn’t take peeks at his resume, and he doesn’t ponder about his place in basketball history, as he already is respected.

Of course, Curry can’t be perfect; he probably has bad habits like the rest of us. Curry has changed the game in bad ways; he’s taken the fact that the game used to be a game with tall players. He changed the game when he joined; he made the game less enjoyable because his style can be used for shorter players, which can make the game boring. Curry is also a show-off. When he shoots threes and makes them, he celebrates, which only adds to the hate from haters. He has done this many, many times, but regardless of whether or not you like Curry, he should be appreciated for what he has done for the world, and for basketball history.
