Every word, every letter,
Together forms a story.
That can take you
To a completely different world. (where is the punctuation for this stanza? Since the other stanzas have punctuation, this one should do)
As my eyes scroll through the pages(this does not need to be repeated, I don’t think it adds rhythm to the story.
I feel as if I were in a completely different world.
I look through the eyes of the characters
The eyes of Robin Hood and John Little.
I could walk through the woods in the body of Robin Hood
As he follows the noble thief.
I could see the look on the face of his love, the beautiful Maid Marian
As she is dazzled by his charming traits.
I could almost smell the aroma from the basket
Of foods Little Red Riding Hood was bringing to her grandmother
And the smell of sweet pine from the trees the big bad wolf hid behind
And the cool fresh air that surrounded him.
I could also hear the birds chirping
And the footsteps of the prince approaching Rapunzel’s tower.
I could hear his holler.
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair.”
Lastly, I could taste the sweet, sweet pastries
Of the gingerbread house made of candies and cake
Owned by a strange, mysterious lady
Who would turn out to be an evil witch that could doom us all.
stories can take us to another world,
A freer and livelier one
With characters that we wish could bring their light into our own world.
