Recently, scientists have found out that as men age, the loss of Y chromosomes can lead to big heart risks. Most people think it’s just a visual thing and that its just a sign of old age like white hair. But it’s not, and researchers are testing male mice to see what would happen.
The researchers genetically modified male mice to lose their Y chromosomes to see the results. And as the researchers predicted, when most of the Y chromosomes died, scar tissue got clumped in their heart, which eventually lead to heart failure and shortened life span.
This is a big problem, as the loss of Y chromosomes can increase heart diseases like never before. And its not even possible to avoid it, as it is how the body works.
Around 40 percent of males lose these cells around age 70, and other lucky ones lose them at around 93. Doctors could not find any way to cure this, so this will probably remain a worldwide problem that can’t be stopped.
