Suspect

By: Harrison Chang

Just last Friday, a suspect was identified in a murder case from April 2011.In this case, the bodies of four women were found buried near Gilgore Beach on Long Island’s South Shore wrapped in burlap. However, those were not all the bodies, 11 more dead bodies were found later.

On April 14th, a man called Rex Heuermann was caught and charged with killing three women. The police and prosecutors believe that Heuermann is the prime suspect in the fourth woman’s death. Mr. Rex Heuermann is a 59-year-old white man. Heuermann works as an architect in Manhattan. He is currently inside the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. On April 14th, his lawyer also denied the murder accusations.

Experts claim that prolific serial killers are usually careful and delicate with their crimes. Who is more meticulous than a person who studied engineering and architecture? The murders are often hidden inside the whole community, which makes it harder for the police to find them. Mr. Rex Heuermann did very well on this part since everyone is familiar with him but no one knows him well enough to identify him. Some people say he is just a stranger and nearly no one knows him well.
