The Eraser

By: Johnn Jin

One day, a boy called Andrew saw a strange frog on a lily pad in the little pond, so he decided to get a closer look.

“Hello,” the frog said, “my name is Alahom.”

“You can talk!” exclaimed Andrew.

“Yes, and I have a gift for you, here,” said Alahom while giving him an eraser. Looking at it, Andrew asked, “What does it do?” But Alahom was gone.

Andrew went home to do his homework when he got the answer wrong he used the eraser Alahom gave him, but the part of the paper he erased disappeared. “WHAT” Andrew yelled “THIS IS AWESOME!”

At dinner time, he used the eraser to make his vegetables disappear. “I’m going to bring this to school tomorrow!” he thought.

The next day when Andrew went to school, his teacher, Mr Smith announced a pop quiz. But Andrew had other plans in his mind. When Mr Smith was showing them the questions and asked for a volunteer, Andrew raised his hand. Then, he went up to solve the question. While he was solving it, he put the eraser in his right hand and erased the whole stack of paper. When Mr Smith couldn’t find the papers he said, “I guess no pop quiz today!” Everyone cheered.

When Andrew got home he started doing his daily erasing of his homework, when his little brother Kell came in. Andrew quickly hid the eraser.

“What are you doing?” asked Kell.

“Just doing my homework,” Andrew replied.

When he thought Kell left, he started erasing his homework again. But Kell barged back in.

“HOW DID YOU DO THAT?” he screamed. “Let me try!”

“No,” said Andrew, swiping the eraser at his brother. But the eraser hit him and he disappeared.

“OH NO!” yelled Andrew frantically. He ran to the little pond and yelled for Alahom. Suddenly the frog appeared.

“How do I bring back something I already erased?” asked Andrew.

“What do you want to bring back? asked Alahom.

“My little brother,” said Andrew.

“Give me the eraser,” said Alahom. At once his little brother appeared and Andrew hugged Kell. Kell didn’t remember anything.

“I’m going to go eat dinner,” said Kell.

When Kell left Andrew went to thank Alahom, but when he looked where the frog used to be he had gone.

“Well I guess I’m going to eat my veggies tonight!” said Andrew.
