The Farmer and the Snake

On the Fitz

The Farmer and the Snake

By: Leer Li

The farmer went out to hunt,

On a snowy cold day.

He saw a snake frozen in the snow,

Which was only a few feet away.

He felt bad for the snake,

Who was on its own.

So he lifted the snake up,

And took it home.

After the farmer got home and ran the bell,

He laid the snake near the fire.

The snow soon began to melt,

While the farmer stood and admired.

When the snake could move again,

The farmer lifted it up.

The snake wiggled and turned,

And left him with a cut.

Helping others is great,

And it makes everyone happy.

But always be caution with your kindness,

And make sure that it is worthy.
