Robert Downey Junior, the famous actor of Iron man, made his latest appearance in the 2024 Comic Con. But not as we knew him – this time, he was a villain-the destroyer of the multiverse, Doctor Doom.
His role appears in the 2026 movie, Doomsday. Many are so familiar with his face of Iron Man that it was hard to believe he would want to be anyone else. The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) elected Robert for the role of Dr. Doom.
His last appearance was in Endgame, where he and the rest of the Avengers defeated Thanos. His famous sacrifice in Endgame was followed by his line that is now all over Youtube and the media, where Thanos loses his Infinity Stones and says: “I am Thanos,” whereas Iron Man obtains the stones and says: “And I, am, Iron Man.”
He then sacrifices himself to defeat Thanos.
In the 2024 Comic-con, MCU announced who was going to play Doctor Doom. When Robert Downey Jr. took off his mask and stepped in front of the stage, the crowd burst with excitement. “New mask. Same task. What’d I tell you? I like playing complicated characters,” said Robert to his crowd.
Robert began his career in 2008, where Marvel released the first Iron Man movie. He then became more and more famous when his role became more popular. People liked seeing his powers and guts put into action.
MCU’s decision definitely affected many Marvel fans, and Doomsday only is becoming more popular over time.
