The Karankawas were one of the most well-known Native American tribes. They were also some of the first that encountered the Europeans. As they were a nomadic tribe that lived in Texas. They were a very advanced and strong tribe among the Indians.
The Karankawas were a strong tribe. They were a strong tribe because they know how to communicate with each other using smoke signals and they also know how to coordinate attacks. One of the attacks that were successful was the attack of the La salle group where they were able to win that fight.
The Karankawa’s main food source was water. The water provided fish and other types of seafood depending on the season. During other seasons they would hunt deer for their meat, and use dear skin to make into clothes to stay warm. One tradition that the Karankawas had was the black drink which is used in a ceremony to prove strength.
The Karnkawas were starving until the Europeans started to take their land and take over. The Karnkawa tribe soon fell into slavery if they did not die of disease given to them by the Europeans. The Karankawa tribe was considered extinct until there were living descendants of the Karankawas where they now live in the reserves.
Overall, I think that the Karankawas were one of the strongest tribes in that area and time period. The Karankawas were a family known for their strength and traditions. Some Karankawas are remembered for their help in the Texas revolution.
