Many of the people creating these memes grew up with these books, so that is why they are so popular. You can’t go 30 minutes on Instagram without seeing a colorful blob with an often-random caption. These memes usually combine dark humor with nostalgia, which only contributes to their popularity.

This meme originated on Tumblr, was then popularized on Twitter, then moved to Instagram, where it blew up. This meme is getting posted and reposted everywhere, which can also be a result of how versatile they are. Little Miss can be anything.
