The Mona Lisa has been caked…

By: Jayden Dudek

A man that was acting as an old woman threw cake at the Mona Lisa in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France on May 30th.

The famous Mona Lisa was made by Leonardo da Vinci in 1503.

People video captured the aftermath while cleaning the cake off the glass.

The man that caked the art attempted to explain his reasoning, “Think of the Earth! There are people who are destroying the Earth! Think about it. Artists tell you: think of the Earth. That’s why I did this.”

The climate activist that threw the cake was captured and sent to a psychiatric unit.

According to art.and.Object.com, there were 6 other shocking attacks towards the Mona Lisa. One of the most famous incidents happened in 1911. Vincenzo Peruggia stole the painting by hiding it in a storage closet. He got caught when he tried to sell the painting 2 years later. “So the Mona Lisa was recovered — and her fame was all the greater,” the Louvre says on its website.
