If I could choose any animal to be my pet for my whole life, I would pick a cat because cats can be very independent, but they also like to just hang out or sit on your lap. There is nothing better than a cat that wants to cuddle. Cats are as affectionate and loving as dogs, plus cats learn faster and don’t need much training!
According to Dr. Pendry, cats “give us attention, relieve our loneliness, provide comfort, fun, and play, affection, and special unique permission to stroke/ pet them and keep them on our laps, which we know releases oxytocin which in turn suppresses the production of cortisol, a stress hormone.”
Unlike many other animals, cats’ communication is much easier to understand. For example, if a cat’s tail is pointed curled up into the air, it is saying that it wants to be friends with you. When cats rubs their head on you, they are saying that they love you.
Cats are one of the best pets for introverted people. They don’t bark like dogs, speak like parrots, or squeak like hamsters. They are usually quiet and only meow now and then. Some cats may not be the same, but the majority of them are calm.
