Hi, I’m the Red Queen, also known as the antagonist of “Alice Through the Looking Glass”, the sequel of the famous “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carrol. I recall my last day as a happy little girl being a lovely snowy one. I was once a beautiful young girl with unique red hair, pampered by servants, everyone admired me as the eldest princess of the Underland. However, my memories of that day aren’t so fond, as it was my last day as a happy little girl. I wish my happy self could have lasted a little while longer…
It was evening, I had just come back from collecting ants for my ant hole collection. I open the door to my little sister, Mirana, she’s standing near my bed, for some reason.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Nothing.” My sister replies and runs off.
I shrug it off and place the ants in their new enclosure, “Here you go,” I say, “a nice new home.”
I thought I was doing good by providing them with a safe living area, but really, I had trapped them in a cage, just like what I did to my own emotions. Of course, that would eventually be the closure I held my victims, those who looked down on me, captive… but we’re not quite there yet.
As I get to my bed, I notice some crumbs on the floor, but I have no time to react. My mother storms into our bed chambers, pulling Mirana in by her arm. I seemed to be the only unkempt girl in the family, both my mother and sister looked like each other, like beautiful and pale royals. On the other hand, my hair was red and frizzy, and I was never given as much attention as my sister.
The rest went by like a blur, I can’t recall it all now. I had told the truth about the tart crusts, but my sister insisted she didn’t eat the last tart. My mother thought I was blaming my sister because the tarts were on my bed. The last thing I remember is that I ran out of the palace crying. I guess that’s when I hit my head.
You see, things started going downhill after that, my head warped into a heart shape after I hit it , and now everyone made fun of me. In my coronation, some orange haired guy broke my crown when fitting it on my head. Then, everyone started laughing at me–they called me a baghead. When I tried to defend myself, well maybe I was a little emotional… my head started swelling larger. My father, my own father, said I was unfit to be queen and rule the Underland. Instead, he crowned Mirana, the one and only that caused all this misfortune for me in the first place.
I knew the only way was to build my own path to the throne.
Over these past few years I did what I could to build myself a powerful empire, as this was the only way I could have self-defense from all the people who looked at me with disgust because of my facial features. I was blinded by anger, but pitied others like me. All of my high advisors had points they were embarrassed by, or so I thought. Apparently, everyone was afraid I would execute them. I wanted to change back into my sweet personality when I was a little girl, but I couldn’t stop. I had to change what happened to me. I had to stop Mirana’s lie that caused all this, I had to revert time and change my past.
But Disney is an adventure after all, things took a crazy turn. I had broken time, and it was Mirana that saved me. Somehow, things turned out alright. I’m not going into the cringe details, but somehow everything calmed down. I may not be the hero of the story, but my sister isn’t the Angel portrayed by Disney either!
