Eddie was a tiny little Poodle. He was very shy, but had a very cute golden-beige color. Whenever he went on a walk, he would walk behind his owner, and he would whimper and frantically scratch his owner’s foot, and the owner would have to tell other people to stay away.
At home, he would follow his owner around, wherever he went. When his owner went to his job, Eddie couldn’t bear staying home alone. But he also couldn’t go with his owner. He was left at home, but soon, Eddie started to feel a little less scared at home and wouldn’t follow him around. But he was still scared alone. So, his owner went out and came home with a surprise – a new friend! The new Poodle, Evan, was less shy, and he taught Eddie that there was nothing to be afraid of, and he made Eddie less lonely when the owner went out.
Everything was going well. Eddie was now less frightened being alone and with other people, but then one day Evan died. Eddie was horrified to lose his friend and went back to his shy version. Things only got worse, because the owner lost his job, and now all he can do is wash the neighbor’s dogs, which wasn’t enough. Soon, the owner only had money to last one more week. But, Eddie knew, when the owner gave Eddie a bath, he would think it was awesome! Eddie wanted to communicate that his owner could start a business like this. Then Eddie finally thought up a way to communicate. He dirtied himself, got a coin, and he walked up to the owner, who then gave Eddie a bath. Then Eddie gave him the coin. It worked! The owner got the message, and they lived happily ever after.
