Bowie’s death is indicative of the risk of pregnancy. Her death brings light to the risk that African Americans face in childbirth. There are a lot of black Americans who have died as a result of childbirth. It also illuminates the stigma of childbirth in sports. Her mate in the relay race, Allyson Felix, was 6 months pregnant before she competed in the Olympics. Felix hid it when she was training train, she would go at 4 am. She was too scared to show her pregnancy.
Bowie first loved basketball, then, she began track and field and learned to love running. Why was she so good at it? Her grandmother told her at a young age that, when you love or like something, don’t quit it. One time, when she was running, a runner was ahead of her, they were close to the finish line, and Bowie thrust herself over the finish line.
