On my RV trip, my family went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. There, I found many rides! One that caught my attention was the water drop one. Once you entered the boat, it would go up really high, and drop you over a waterfall. I knew I was in for an exciting ride.

I first had to wait around five minutes to get on the ride. I know, waiting in line is really boring. Once we got there, we entered the boat. I was really careful not to sit on a wet spot because I didn’t want to get wet before the drop. Once our restraints were on, the boat started to move.

Our boat started climbing up. I could see a good view of the whole Boardwalk. I could see a big roller coaster, a smaller roller coaster, a cable car ride, and the giant beach there. Once we climbed up, I suddenly got really scared. It had been a long time since I rode one of these rides, and I couldn’t remember how much water would splash. I didn’t have long to think though, because I was already at the drop.

My heart was pounding like crazy. It was time to drop! The boat went down, slowly at first. Then, it started speeding up. I felt like I was falling without any support. I was almost at the bottom. Splash! I was totally drenched. I was as cold as an ice cube, even though it was the summer. Just then, I got even more scared. I saw the water cannons.

Later in the day, I found out that somebody could give money and splash somebody in a boat. I was so lucky that I didn’t get splashed! I really liked the water drop ride. It cooled me off for the day. I want to go on more rides like this.
