There are many reasons for people becoming migrants. There are dozens of causes for individuals becoming migrants. Some individuals became migrants due to wars, and others moved to escape conflicts like human rights violations. There are many possibilities but moving for more economic opportunities tends to be one of the most common reasons .
According to Global Citizen, there are more than 258 million people who have crossed borders , but what exactly are migrants?
Briefly speaking, migrants are crews of people who use illegal ways to get to other countries or get across borders. However, these journeys also come along with many big risks.
In order to stay hidden from the maritime police, migrants usually hide inside small boxes or below the deck of a ship. There is nearly no air circulation in these places, so they might die during the journey. Even if they lived, they might still be swallowed by the sea.
Although it seems hopeful to start a new life, things are never as perfect as we think. These migrants often live in the shadows, and they can’t get any paperwork that might reveal their identities. This also means that they cannot find a proper career. Maybe moving isn’t the best solution for them, but maybe they do not get to choose.
