I thought this summer would be a breeze
That I could pass through and relax with ease
Many things I wanted to complete
But too many things, as much as a fleet
Going to the gym, finishing classes, and more
Each day feels more and more a chore
I wake up, do work and back to bed
Every day I repeat again and again
I thought I wanted school to end
But now that it’s summer I know that I depend
On school for my joy
I look forward to the weekend
Where I can change my days, twist and bend
And relax and write with my pen.
