Most people expect going to a ranch and horse-riding to be a fun and enjoyable activity, but Tiktoker Remi Bader had a much different experience — she was mistreated and fat-shamed.

Remi Bader, a fashion influencer and curve model, says she was laughed at by an employee and kicked out because she was too heavy to ride a horse. Bader was very unsettled, stating, “It was very embarrassing to be told I need to leave alone when everyone else got to stay.”

An employee at the ranch also posted a tiktok saying, “When you’re not a fat b—-, you can ride at Deep Hollow Ranch.”

Bader says “I’ve ridden horses before and have never had this issue,” adding later that she never meant to hurt the horses, but “it was the way I was spoken to and laughed at by the owner and the way I was treated overall.”

The ranch later gave an apology, stating, “We would like to apologize to anyone who this offended and we do not condone or agree with any part of that employee’s video.”

There was no information on a weight restriction or how heavy a person could be to ride a horse on the ranch’s website, but many veterinarians suggest that a rider should be less than 15-20% of a horse’s total body weight.
