The Tour de France is a race that takes place in France, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, and more. This race has 21 days of biking, and each day has one winner. There are four classifications for the tour. The winner of each classification gets their own unique jersey. The yellow jersey, white jersey, polka-dot jersey, and a green jersey. The white jersey is for the best young rider, meaning they have to be under 25 to get that jersey. Someone can have both white and yellow jersey if they are under 25. The person with the most kom points gets the polka-dot jersey. Whoever has the most sprinter points gets the green jersey. The person who wears the yellow jersey after the last race gets first place for the whole thing.
During the race, the temperature was really hot and sometimes went above 100 degrees.
After about three full weeks of the Tour, Vingegaard, as he had on Saturday, brought out his daughter in the area past the finish line and gave them a big hug after he got first place. Jonas Vingegaared rides for UCI WorldTeam Team Jumbo–Visma. Tadej Pogacar came in second, and Geraint Thomas in third place. “I think the battle between me and Jonas was really something special,” Pogacar said. “He’s stepped up from last year, he’s taken control of things from the beginning, and he’s proved he’s a strong rider.”
“It’s just incredible. I’ve finally won the Tour,” Jonas Vinegared said. Vinegared beat last year’s winner, Tadej Pogacar, the cyclist who got second place this year.
